Many of our large and small business customers report slow RFP releases in August. Here are best industry insights into why:
- Many years, there is a tendency all of have often seen to have slower RFP releases during late fiscal year months. This is because it is easier for agencies to spend budgeted amounts through something like a simple Invitation for Bids (IFB) rather than a complex RFP.
- Due to the size of the appropriations and the late budget signing, this year procurement groups especially need to spend as much as possible through current contracts rather than processing new RFPs.
- Since the administration has still not filled many political grade positions, Government procurement shops even shorter of decision makers than in previous administrations.
